Barrett Franks at the Australian Open
28/01/2010

Māori Open Singles Champion in 2007/08 and 2009 R/U, Christchurch based Barrett Franks Ngapuhi (above) gave the world's top-ranked junior player, and Junior Australian Open top seed Daniel Berta of Sweden a first set scare in the Junior Australian Open. The Kiwi went down to the top seed, but not before putting up a real fight in the first set, eventually going down 7-5 6-2.
Later, Franks was part of an 'Internationals' doubles exhibition match in the Margaret Court Arena, paired with Swedish legend Anders Jarryd. They played top Aussie junior Luke Saville, partnered with his hero Pat Rafter. To finish the match, Franks aced both Aussies with his last two serves!
